Intentions

Red embroidery outlining a child's drawing.

Stitching Like A Mother is a collection of thoughts about my experiences being a mother/parent and an artist. My intention is to share some of my experiences with embroidery as a tool for artist caregivers.

These are my thoughts and are not meant to encompass every parent, every mother, or every artist. I have been creative and creating since I was a small child, but I have only been a mother since 2015. All of this to say, take it with a grain of salt. I am learning as I go and want to use this space as a place to write about my work, my travels within parenting, and the attempt to have the two meet somewhere in my mind. I have found embroidery to be a process and a medium that is calming and most importantly with a busy kid, portable!

*I will not lecture you or suggest how to parent, but I may give you some opinions and tips about embroidery.
